The Caricatures: Emanoel started drawing as a young man in Johannesburg, South Africa, and continued wherever he went throughout his life, ending up in Oxford in the UK. His caricatures are presented here in a series of galleries, each of which represents a part of his life.

Historical Importance: This collection presents a graphical and personal history of both society and medicine in apartheid South Africa in the 1950s, and post-war England up to the mid-1980s.

Request for Help: The website is a work in progress. If you know any details about any of the people drawn in the caricatures, including any anecdotes about them, please contact us. The site will be updated to reflect your input.
